The Majestic Academy Teen Intensive Program is designed for the advanced teen to learn about theatre in a small group, highly focused setting. In 2014 there will be two separate sessions; you may apply for ONE or BOTH. The productions below will be used as the main focus of each two-week intensive, with a final culminating performance at the end. The Teen Intensive Program is designed to mimic college required theatre intensive internship programs and is open to ages 13-19.
During the course of each session the group of performers selected for the program will rehearse the production, design, build and create costumes, build props, construct sets and market the production under the direction and mentorship of a guest director as well as A. Robert Dionne, Artistic Director of The Majestic. The young artists will play a leading role in every artistic aspect of theatre while gaining tangible skills in all areas. Additionally, students will learn the importance of teamwork and organization as they accomplish a full length play in a deadline oriented environment.

Session One: LAUGHING STOCK by Charles Morey -- (July 14-25, 2014)
THE STORY: LAUGHING STOCK is a hilarious backstage farce and genuinely affectionate look into the world of the theatre. When The Playhouse, a rustic New England summer theatre, schedules a repertory season of Dracula, Hamlet and Charley's Aunt, comic mayhem ensues. We follow the well-intentioned but over-matched company from outrageous auditions to ego-driven rehearsals through opening nights gone disastrously awry to the elation of a great play well told and the comic and nostalgic season close. Session Two: INFINITE BLACK SUITCASE by EM Lewis -- (August 11-22, 2014)
THE STORY: From critically-acclaimed playwright EM Lewis, comes INFINITE BLACK SUITCASE, the story of one day in a small Oregon town and three families who are trying, in the most loving and human ways, to deal with death and dying. "EM Lewis offers an endearing and insightful perusal into the lives of 16 rural Oregonians, dealing with the trauma of recent or impending death, during the course of a single day...Lewis gives evidence of being a significant talent to watch." - Variety (Source: samuelfrench.com)
